An old, cottage style building on the main road, The Vaults comprises a decent sized square shaped bar/lounge and an adjacent restaurant. The drinking area contains a pool table, TV, games machines and a juke box, with the serving hatch along half of one wall. A pint of Tennent’s lager costs £3 and Caledonia Best, Stella Artois and Coors Triple Filtered lager are also on draught. Being some distance away from the town centre, on the road heading south, the clientele seems to be mainly locals from the nearby housing estates rather than holidaymakers.
