Brainy Pool left this review about Old Albion Inn

a characterful olde-worlde maritime pub in an eerily silent village that is basically now a collection of holiday homes fairly close to a beach. unusually for this area it hasn't been modernised, gentrified or gastrofied to death. the pub opposite was closed and this one was very quiet- given its location i fear for it in the winter. pedestrian choice of Sharps Sea Fury and Doom Bar but the former wasn't too bad - a very drinkable pint. quick quaff and off for the bus. would have loved to stay for a few if it had been busier- these authentic pubs need to be supported urgently before we're left with nothing but destination gastro barns.

Colin Gooch left this review about Old Albion Inn

Pretty thatched pub with links to the smuggling trade (including a smugglers hiding place). Substantial pasties and huge ploughman's together with real ale and usual range of beers and lagers. Parking can be difficult and outside seating is limited. The Old Albion with its range of souvenirs for sale does seem to have an identity crisis in deciding if its a pub or a tourist attraction - perhaps it is both

Very old pub, low beamed ceiling, subdued lighting. Lunch & evening food available including steak pasty. Sells real ale. Parking available.
