Will Larter left this review about The Strathmore Arms
A hotel in a small tourist village, so majoring on accommodation and dining. There are two rooms set up for dining but there is a bar counter and it would have been possible to sit there with my beer; I chose instead to return to the courtyard through which I had entered to enjoy my beer in the sunshine. No real ale, of course; I went for the Harviestoun Bitter & Twisted, which was not as good as the taste I'd sneaked of my daughter's beer in the Curly Coo in Stirling, but much better than the freezing cold version I can still remember from a few years back at the Sheeps Heid in Duddingstone. (Nor, of course it goes without saying, was it as good as the cask version I can remember from a visit to Edinburgh prior to that.)
A more publike stop would have been preferable, but as a staging post on my cycle ride to Kirriemuir and beyond it fulfilled something of its purpose.
