The Howff is a small dimly lit basement bar that serves food, most of which is deep fried if the smell of fat was anything to go by. During my recent Monday evening visit there was some background music playing and the plasma screen was airing muted Sky Sports. The bar is stocked with standard keg products.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Howff
Busy cellar bar, with a mixed crowd in and a convivial atmosphere. Square-ish bar with some more seating to one side and in a couple of other small areas each down a few steps. Decor limited to a bit of dark wood-panelling and several sports TVs. Quite a few people eating in the early evening. Just one real ale on from regular suppliers Deeside, but that was a decent pint of Swift APA (£3.75).

Excellent food at excellent prices and huge portions!! Half-portions available on request (the normal sized portions are seriously huge!) Popular pub owned by the music shop upstairs. Decor is a bit old-fashioned but friendly and welcoming. Good helpful staff with a wide range of beers.
