Two rooms, a red and whitewashed main bar featuring a jumbo ship's wheel whilst a posh dining room through glass doors is in the other bar. GBG listed with three cask; Doom Bar, St Austell Tribute and Proper Job, the latter of which was a bit old and lacking its usual zip (NBSS 2). Funny atmosphere as well, didn’t settle and felt like spare part. Not for me, Clive.

What a lovely pub. After trying one of the other pubs in Lostwithiel we though we'd give this one a go.
Tribute the first night and 2 pints of Proper Job the second night. Both in good order.
The food menu was not extensive but what was served was very good.

Pub is situated more or less behind the Royal Talbot, but this one is a Free House. However on my visit just one Hand pull ale available, the pint was OK, but not memorable as I have forgotten name of it already. I did have to ask barmaid to top it up to pint as well
There are two separate areas, one more dining, other public, plus outside seating, overlooking their reasonable sized car park
Not many in, well only two others and me. From talking to my B & B it seems this pub has had many a new licencee & mixed reports over time. A check via any search engine will conform mixed reviews
They sell food, but the menu I saw was limited & not inspiring to me, but other reviews elsewhere rate it highly, makes me wonder if we are talking about same place, or perhaps it is owner changing yet again?
Once, a person I assumed was the landlady, joined us the place warmed up and was quite chatty
This pub is very mixed, be prepared to love or loath it
I think I would go back if in area again, but only to see if I had got it wrong first time. I did not return during my few days staying in Lostwithiel
