Another food-oriented bar with a lengthy bar counter. The space is rectangular with a raised area at the rear. For the second pub in a row, I chose the house beer Hercules The Cloth Ear IPA. Guinness & Smithwick's Red Ale were also on. The cider was Orchard Thieves.

I agree with Strongers. As a drinker, I didn't feel comfortable here. Food is the mainstay here and it felt quite posh. This may well be a good place to eat and I doubt I will return unless looking for a meal.

The Cloth Ear has small seating areas either side of the entrance and a bar up the left wall that faces high tables down the centre and booths under the right hand windows. At the rear is a raised seating area. A sign at the door asks for people to wait to be seated so this place is very much food led. This didn’t surprise me because it was closed before 21:30 when I walked past the previous evening. Keg is available from the bar, £3.15 for half a Guinness was top end price I paid during my stay in Belfast. There was some background music playing, but I thought this place was a bit pretentious, certainly not somewhere I’d go again just for a beer.
