This is a detached pub, with patio, which is in the GBG and home to the Swansea Brewing Company. The GBG dates the pub to 1860, although it isnt marked as a pub on the early OS maps. It is a stone cottage, with a porch - and brick around the somewhat unsympathetic windows. The flowers added colour. The interior has two rooms. The front room is the bar, which is in stone, with a white and beam ceiling and red tile floor. There is a spiral stair to an upper floor that i didn't see. A few prints, a barrel and a stone fireplace at either end added interest. There is a dart board and the TV wasn't on. There was no music. The back room is the lounge and connects by an open doorway. It is in white and has a TV, also not on. The service was fine and a few locals were in. Beer; usual tap stuff, with Old Thumper, Courage Best, Thakston's Lightfoot, Pedigree and then Swansea's Three Cliffs Gold, Original Wood and Bishopswood Bitter. I tried all the Swansea ones and enjoyed. Very musch worth a visit, i could stop for a good while. It, and the Valley, are somewhat opposite, but make for a good time. Go.
