Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Globe Inn

Locals pub in the village of Glais. It has a bar and a restaurant, with a garden area up some steps to the rear along with a car park at a similar level.

Both rooms are carpeted. The bar has old pictures of the pub and the local area on the walls and there is a nice, ornate fireplace. A TV was showing live golf, with two other TVs switched off. There is also a fruit machine and a jukebox. A wifi code is available behind the bar. A sign also behind the bar proclaims the pub to be the oldest pub in Glais. Given there are only 2 left in the village, this is not a spectacular effort.

The pub was in the Good Beer Guide 20 years ago but handpulls are now removed. The keg choice was Strongbow, Madri, Coors, Worthington's, Guinness, Thatcher's Blood Orange, Cloudy Lemon and Apple & Blackcurrant ciders, San Miguel & Carling. Complimentary nuts were available in a bowl on the bar.

The dining room was not in use for our mid-afternoon visit. However, tables were made out for food and Sunday lunches were advertised for £14 for adults. Desserts are an extra £4.

There weren't many customers during our visit. A group in the garden when we arrived left shortly after. There were also another group of old boys in the bar. Children are also allowed.

Not too much to recommend this pub to the passing drinker. You'd probably have to head to the second oldest pub in Glais to find a cask ale.
