Big sprawling country pub up a country line beyond Lisvane and on the side of Caerphilly Mountain. Lots of inside seating areas including what looks like a banqueting hall off to the left of the entrance and down some steps. Around the bar plenty of seating in various nooks and crannies including some areas with fires but not lit this time of year. Stools at the bar. There is a good amount of outside seating. This an insanely popular venue at weekends and for family dining.

Brains pub so the cask options were Best Bitter, Rev James and SA Gold. Keg choices were lagers (Carlsberg, Brooklyn Pilsner, San Miguel & Estrella), ciders (berries and cherries Old Mount & Orchard Thieves), Guinness, Brains Barry Island Pale Ale & Neck Oil.

Have been to this pub a few times over the years for Sunday lunch but quite nice to see it quiet at the end of a long evening and to sit at the bar and chat to the manageress that had taken over the venue since my last visit. Better beer pubs in this northern part of Cardiff so just an average score for me here.
