Another relatively modern pub with a central bar and seating all around the bar via conventional tables that suit drinkers and diners. Bare boarded but the corners only are curiously carpeted as if they ran out of boards! Quite a few screens around the pub (in fact wherever you sit just about you can see a TV) and had Olympics on with no commentary instead quite light "swing" music. There are fruit machines, kiddies grab a soft toy game machines. Most here were dining and there are a good number of outside seats on the perimeter of the pub.

Quaffs wise on tap were Guinness, Carling, a cider from Sharps called Cold River, Madri, Aspall Cider and a berries cider from Carling, Carling, Coors and Caffrey's. On handpump was a Twin Coast Session Pale Ale from Sharps that came with its own branded glass and Doom Bar. The Sharps cask beer was pretty decent.

Felt very much a locals pub and for locals that have a beef with Wetherspoons, given the proximity of a large example of that literally walkable in the time Keeley Hodgkinson can run 800m.

The Three Horseshoes is a fairly basic local on a busy traffic junction. Despite being in such a prominent location, it's very easy to miss it, with the large Wetherspoon's (Aneurin Bevan) immediately catching attention. A tented area on the side of the pub doesn't do it any favours, as it seemingly disguises it as a pub.

Having looked at Whatpub before arriving, I was expecting a Brains pub. However, there was no sign of any Brains beers. The choice was Doom Bar or Doom Bar Extra Cold. We ordered one of each, finding that both were cold with no apparent difference in temperature. As Doom Bar goes, it was in good condition. Service was friendly, but the pub is very basic and not particularly appealing. There were a few afternoon drinkers and a couple of women were holding a business meeting.
