No cask. Keg was Thatchers Gold cider plus that tap contraption that delivers three flavoured Thatchers ciders. Also, Tiny Rebel Easy Livin and Electric Boogaloo. Then Guinness, Rekorderlig strawberry & lime cider, Sharp’s Cold River cider, Carling, Estrella, Blue Moon, Staro, Coors, Worthington Creamflow, Sharps Atlantic Pale Ale and their own branded beer, which alternates between a lager, cider or pale ale.
Large pub on one of the main roads into Cardiff city centre. Sort of I shaped with a long strip at the front along the windows out onto the main road with the bar counter an oblong with the narrow end by the front entrance. To the left of the entrance is an area where the walls are adorned with large gilt framed mirrors and a couple of pool tables sit on the boarded floor. To the right of the door is an area with lots of tables and benches and what looks like a stage area at the very end with the shutters down on my lunchtime visit. Opposite the long side of the bar counter is an area with two leather sofas facing each other with an ornate railing around the area. At the side of the sofas is an upright piano and a large screen on the wall. At the other short end of the bar resides the open kitchen at one end and a chessboard style tiled floor with a long green leather sofa around the back wall at one end leading into the outside sitting area with picnic style benches. The TV’s dotted around the walls were all showing snooker absent commentary and a very loud anthem style pop set playing.
