A substantial white-painted building beside the main road through the small town of Llanfyllin. It feels smaller inside than anticipated, with the central bar counter, built of bricks and timber, being just inside the front door, making the single space into two separate rooms. It was lively at the time of my late Monday afternoon visit, though only about a dozen people in. There are three hand pumps on the bar with Marstons Saddle Tank, Elgood Golden Newt and a very good Brains Reverend James - I've never had this beer in such good condition before. This would be my go-to pub if returning to Llanfyllin.
