Blackthorn _ left this review about Beaufort Arms Hotel

Located on the main road through this small village, this is a good sized pub and hotel which seems to perhaps major on food, but there was nonetheless a small and cosy bar at the front which was only occupied by diners, as well as an outside terrace overlooking the car park.

The front bar is very cosy as mentioned, and definitely not at all like your usual hotel bar. There are flagstone style tiles on the floor, plenty of black beams on the low ceiling and further inlaid timberwork in the walls, which were mostly white with deep marron around the top. There were also some areas of exposed stonework. A stone fireplace with a wood burning stove and a pile of logs stacked above was off to one side, and there were plenty of bits and pieces dotted around such as copper pots and pans, old black and white pictures, many of them portraits, books and board games. A small TV seemed a little out of place perhaps, but fortunately this was not in use. A larger room to the left which looked to be more of a restaurant was somewhat more contemporary with pale wood strip on the floor, red paintwork on the walls, and a plain whitewashed ceiling whilst another room at the rear was again much cosier with red patterned carpet on the floor, black beams and a very large stone fireplace, although here too all tables were laid up for dining.

Beers on tap were both from Wye Valley with their HPA and Butty Bach, whilst the ciders were Stowford Press and Thatcher’s Gold.

Jan 2004: Clean, serviceable, accomodation in need of a little love and attention, including screws in the door locks. Somewhat quaint booking in procedures. Beer's quite good though and a cozy wee front bar.
