Traditional old place just off the sea wall and Wales Coast Path. There’s a log bar front and a painting of the Usk lighthouse covering the whole bar back. Otherwise, light blue and white squares on the walls with black wood trim and the inevitable nautical paraphernalia; worn but homely. A pleasant garden area where the odd wandering cow can be spotted close by (see picture). Three naked pumps so a keg Theakston Best had to do. Friendly landlady who likes to throw a bit of Welsh at you, so remember your Diolch yn fawr’s. Can’t really score past a 6 because of the lack of an ale but I enjoyed my 20 minutes here.

The Lighthouse Inn is run by a partnership of four. We took over in February 2002. We provide bar food from 12 until 7.45 Tuesday to Saturday & 12 until 6.45 Sunday & Monday. We also boast a diversity of ales and lagers, at competative prices. See
