A yomp up the hill to this quasi-food pub. The lower room is the foody area whilst the bar is in a separate room up a few stairs and is more set for drinkers. This room has a modern take on a traditional interior- exposed stone walls, slate flooring, chunky wood furniture, some wood trim painted white and duck egg blue. Many TV sports screens and modern music for the staff's amusement. GBG listed and I saw three pumps with two on - Marstons Pedigree and Brains Rev James, the latter of which was a bit over-vented but cellared well enough (NBSS 2.5). Almost all the outside tables are labelled as no smoking/vaping which struck me as rather prissy and gives lie to their priorities I suppose.

Locals' pub sat on a busy roundabout at the edge of town.
Inside there is a busy public bar and a separate dining area. The bar was packed, with TVs showing a Welsh rugby match. Almost all tables were taken with a noisy crowd cheering on the national team. Those tables not occupied still had reserved signs on them.
Despite not being there for the rugby, we managed to stay and took over one of the reserved tables for a swift drink. There are 3 handpulls. Brains The Rev James is the regular ale. That was supplemented by Brains SA Gold & Marston's Pedigree.
