Two room local with a tight front bar and a larger restaurant area which looked like it hadn't been decorated since the late 60's, a bit of a mini Berni Inn. Loads of pics of the local football team for interest in here. Different music in both rooms which leeched via the bar to create a pretty awful cacophony. Decided to eat here and the jumbo portions emanating from the kitchen were most welcome. Just Doom Bar on cask at the bar, but a great drop (well, as great as this dishwater gets, NBSS 4) with a Bass clip turned. Two highlights were a sweary barmaid being told to shush by the manager and a young guy getting a bollocking off the latter for being pissed and winding up another local. It’s a strange little town and this along with the Black Lion gave us a flavour. Has its plus points though!
