Situated almost opposite Cardigan Castle, this is the town's main real ale pub and it can be found in the Good Beer Guide.

The bar can be found just off to the right as you enter. There is seating at the front and the drinking space continues a fair way off to the left-hand side. There is also an outdoor patio for river views. But it was quite a chilly Sunday afternoon in West Wales yesterday. So, we opted to sit inside in what was quite a nice, modern room.

Sharp's Doom Bar is the regular beer. Their Solar Wave was also on, along with the local Cardigan Dai IPA, which I ordered. I was suitably impressed by the beer quality. Cardigan seems to be a pretty poor place for real ale drinkers, but this one is at least worthy of a visit.

Nice spot down by the river. Spotlessly clean pub, mainly catering for dining. Special was dressed crab, salad and bread and butter for an eye-watering £18.95.

Downstairs knocked through, nice views over the river. DAIPA by a local brewery served in a doom bar glass.

GBG2023 - but after I other pubby experience, the local camra must allocate the award to anyone selling beer.

The handsome yellow building looks rather nice from the outside with its elevated street corner position overlooking the River Teifi. However, the side terrace excepted, the open-plan interior is crushingly dull. Three ales on; Sharps Doom Bar, Sharps Sea Fury (NBSS 4) and one from the local(ish) Bluestone, justifying its GBG selection. If you can grab a seat overlooking the river with a great pint in your hand then you’ll enjoy this one. I had only the latter - so scored accordingly. 6.5
