The Prince of Wales is down a side street just off the main drag so can be easily missed by those not in the know. I popped in on a recent Monday evening to find a handful of boisterous locals in the small left hand bar area. The right hand bar was empty, as was the large dining/function room at the rear. I noted advertisements for a beer garden, but I did not investigate on this occasion.
During my visit some sporadic music emanated from the jukebox and I was able to enjoy some darts practice as nobody was using the adjacent pool table. I counted three hand pumps on the bar, but two of these were unused which left Nut Brown Ale as the lone cask option amongst the standard keg.
This pub has odd opening times: Mon noon – 23:45; Tue - Thu 16:00 - 23:45; Fri & Sat noon – 00:45, Sun noon – 23:45.

Sadly I believe this one might have gone for good as we didn’t find it open during our week in Aberaeron. And for research purposes I did take the small detour down the back streets to look it up every day, without success.

Likeable backstreet boozer, with two different bars over two different levels, plus a fair-sized back room. The genial landlord (from Leicestershire, given his accent) is a welcoming chap and will engage in conversation. Pub is a Felinfoel tied house so two of their ales are on offer, though I hate their beers so much I had a J2O instead. Quizzer ready to take your money in the back room (which has a nice frieze of the harbour at sunset). Not a bad little place - in a different West Wales town it'd do well but here it's overshadowed by better pubs with nicer beer.
