Decent three roomed Sam Smiths community pub, it was quiet on this Thursday evening but had a few locals in. It’s a pleasant place with everything you expect from this brewery. the room I was in was like a shrine to Admiral Nelson with naval images to the fore.

Spruced up on the outside since the last review. This is a very neat Sam Smiths pub. Four rooms around a central servery all nicely decorated. A chatty landlord gave us a warm welcome as did the two other drinkers in the pub. A pint of mild and a half of cider came to just £2.87. We may well call in here again next times we're walking down Nunnery Lane.

A bit of a surprise, from the outside this looks like a bit of a worn out, old, tatty pub but i found it to be very clean and presentable inside. the bar is in the center of the pub and all surrounding rooms have been opened to to make one large drinking area. there is also a small room to the side with pool table and darts board. The pub also has a really good beer garden to the rear with lots of room and loads of tables to sit at and enjoy the sun, away from the main road as well as not to disturb you.
The usual Sam Smiths offer is available with Light mild sold here but not dark mild. My Old Brewery Bitter (£1.80) was a nice pint in here.
A bit of a locals pub away from the akin tourist areas of York and could be prone to a few undesirable characters but everyone on my visit was pleasant. I liked This sams pub and would return in the future.

Slightly tatty Sam Smiths pub, the front was originally three rooms but now the doors have gone leaving enough separation and different furnishings to make this layout apparant. The counter is in the centre and along the back wall, it has a L shape to cater for the back room where there's a dart board. A typical community pub with some decent banter among the locals. Not quite the usual cold vinegar expected in Sam's pubs but close, I'd stick with the Old Ebor, Swan and Slip round this part of town.

Usual sam smiths selection. The pub has a pool table & a dartboard. Cheap as chips prices.

Sam Smiths pub just outside the town centre with coal fires in a couple of rooms.Called in before my train was due and sampled a couple of pints of stout.I found the pub cosy and tidy but i think the decor is ready for a update.
