Old Boots left this review about The Lord Nelson
White painted brick built pub in the older part of the village. Now a single long room with the servery central on the rear wall. To the left is a more formal dining area while to the right a comfortable lounge bar where meals are also served, between is a sitting area in front of the counter. Carpeted throughout with mixed wall treatments, mostly woody either tongue and groove or rougher cladding. Furnished in a pleasant style with upholstered carvers, a pew and some dining chairs in the lounge, the middle also has some taller tables and stools. The pool table has gone but the dart board and a screen remain, there’s also the odd item of décor relating to the eponymous one armed national hero. Four pulls with a mixed range of pales, Helmsley, Taylor’s Landlord, a hazy Kirkstall and an Abbeydale being represented today, quality and service were fine.

Graham Coombs left this review about The Lord Nelson Inn
A very old building, apparently once a farmhouse, with heavily beamed ceilings. One long and nicely furnished room, with a lounge area separated by a fireplace, stretching down to a pool table and dartboard at the other end. Garden at rear. Draught ales at time of visit were Shepherd Neame Spitfire and Castle Rock Harvest Pale, which was in very drinkable form. Apparently it previously offered camping spaces but this seems to have been discontinued.
