Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Lighthorseman
Fine-looking old Thwaites pub with a Camra national inventory heritage interior. The main bar at the front has a solid counter and imposing bar-back, if you can see past the locals sat on the row of high stools, all under a high ceiling (and a decorative lantern) and feature windows along the frontage and one side. Further back, there is a games room with a popular pool table and a small dining room. Three handpumps, and although the brewery's small-batch German Altbier was sadly unavailable, the Handsome Devil (£4.50, in good shape) was on, as was Bradfield's Farmers Blonde.

Outstanding CAMRA listed interior, high ceilings with ornate ceiling roses, amazing bar back, stained glass, bench seating at wooden tables, sadly let down by big clear windows. Not happy with three pulls all with glasses on top, although the worst aspect was probably the loud cackling bar maid and her even louder friend. Three rooms, I didn’t go in the back ones but I suspect one’s just a sitting area with no counter while the other has a pool table and seating. All the beloved kegs are there as well as the three pulls of Marston’s beers, it is badged as a Thwaites pub, although there is a small clip collection of more exciting beers. Probably only worth visiting for the interior.

Slightly run-down pub with accommodation on the southern fringe of York in what would once have been an impressive Victorian building. The main bar room is very much for the locals, with a games room containing a pool table behind, a small dining room and a fairly basic outdoor area behind, functional enough but all having seen better days. Beers mainly from Thwaites were Lancaster Bomber, Wainwright and Lil Bewdy with a guest from Wadsworths.

Large Thwaits pub up from the sting of pubs near the barbican center. There are four hand pulls available with lancaster bomber and wainright being permanents adn on this occasion a Thwaits seasonal plus a guest o forgot. the wainright was in very good nick here but the price seems a Little steep at something around the £3.40/50 mark, my friends Coors Light was £3.80!
This pub was very busy with regulars as this is not really on the tourist trail and was very lively. I really enjoyed having a drink here and would gladly return as they sell good beer in a nice environment.

This is a large pub away from the middle of York it was a Stones house in the early 80s but it is now a Thwaites tied house and has their very nice beers on the bar i tried Lancaster Bomber which was ok.
