It appears to have become largely a music venue since Covid, normally opening at 7:30pm when there’s a gig on. It does claim to open as a pub from 3-11pm Saturdays and Sundays. They say check the website for more details.

Large one roomed pub with scattered tables and hard wooden floors that can be a little soulless when not filled like on my afternoon visit. the bar is to the left and has a really good selection of well kept ales at ok prices. on my visit there was Dancing duck dark drake, Roosters blind jack, york Guzzler Timothy Taylor landlord and Osset blonde. The timothy Taylor was really nice and and average price of £3.40. There was a tv showing the rugby and the pub has two bar billiards tables as well as a dart board but annoyingly no oche!!
This is a nice place to enjoy a good selection of beer but an evening visit would probably leave a better impression as the one room layout can be a little dull and down of energy! i would return though as the beer is fantastic.

Fairly basic sort of pub with one large room, mainly aimed at student types. Very friendly though, with excellent range of beers, but most notable for having 3 bar billiards tables. Some rather good music playing at time of visit, Large car park and garden area at rear. Well worth a visit as an antidote to gastro and posh!
