A bit of a rarity in the area nowadays - an ordinary village pub. Three rooms arranged round a central bar, with tidy if a little dated furnishings and decor. No gimmickry, food conventional and not especially exciting but good, a pleasant buzz of conversation and generally a nice place to be. Outside there is a benched terrace to the front. On the beer front there were two good ales from Yorkshire Heart (Blonde and Blackheart: excellent condition) and some standard stuff on keg. A fine example of a good, everyday pub.
