Modern-ish low-rise pub serving the Woodthorpe housing estates (follow the signs for Local Shops) with a cluttered, unlovely exterior. Inside is not that much better; there are two rooms, one has a dartboard and a pool table, while the other has two dartboards and a pool table. Large sport screens hang on any suitable wall. Furnishings and decor are entirely what you might expect, although admittedly generally in good condition. There is the usual selection of predictable mainstream keg on tap with a pair of handpumps on each bar, although only one seemed to be in use, but all clipped for TT Landlord anyway. Thankfully it was in a reasonable condition, although not that great as to suggest going out of your way to visit.

An estate pub on one of those estates with roads snaking about everywhere making it a long walk from anywhere to anywhere; they’re named after places in the Lake District, fortunately a number 12A bus stops outside at Woodthorpe shops. Probably a nineteen sixties build it has little period charm. Two bars inside, a lounge straight ahead and a public to the right on entering. I chose the public of course, not inverse snobbery at work but the lounge was empty and the bantering locals were friendly. Usual screens and machines plus darts and a pool table, laminate floor, white walls and grey plague lower walls and counter front. Two T-bars, with a Corona solo, a Guinness and a pull at each end, one with an OK Landlord the other blank, both bars have the same choice.
