A fairly simple little village locals' pub with one L-shaped room, old-school fittings and carpet. It looked like they might do food evenings and/or Sundays but no sign at lunchtime. There were two cask ales though - Ossett Blonde and Theakstons Best and condition seemed ok. The landlord was cheery enough but the locals didn't seem especially keen on outsiders. Generally adequate and functional but not a great draw for a return.
