A single storey estate type pub that is family friendly and community focussed, several tvs for sports, a weekly quiz, live music and a weekend dj set all feature. There are good value meals to be had including a pensioners special menu with two courses for £4.95.
Inside is one large open plan room which returns each end of the bar with pool and darts to one side, games machines including a toy grab game to the other. Mostly carpeted, seating is mixed in style including high tables and benches. There is outdoor seating to the front and also in a fenced off bit of car park.
It’s Greene King here but the beer range was decent, as well as Abbot there was Abbeydale Deception, Pheasantry Lincoln Tank Ale and Stancil Barnsley Bitter coming soon. I didn’t see an IPA pump. 10% off cask ales for CAMRA members prominently advertised.
The unusual pub name refers to an independent cutler working in the local Sheffield cutlery trade.
The pub was friendly and the service good, not a bad little community local at all.
