Will Larter left this review about The Strines Inn
This is a lovely old stone-built country inn occupying an isolated spot at the head of Bradfield Dale and with a view of the reservoir that shares its name. There are three rooms, with the bar in the central room accessed by the front door. Most tables have menus and cruet sets, but they are quite acceptable accommodation for drinkers.
There are three hand pumps on the bar serving beers from the Marstons stable: Pedigree and two Jennings beers, High Spy and Cocker Hoop. I had the High Spy, which is very pale but well balanced and enjoyable. There are innumerable photos on the walls, which would bear a closer inspection by anyone who has the time. Getting here is likely to be a problem: you need either a designated driver or a stout pair of hiking boots (the walk over Strines Moor with its strange wind-carved rocks is interesting).
