A large Sam Smiths pub with an even larger car park in front of it, about midway between the two Kiveton railway stations, and only a short walk from the lower league football ground of Kiveton Park FC. I went through the door on the right which is the games room, and wandered through to the left, which has the main bar counter and half a dozen drinkers clustered around the bar. One of them turned out to be the landlady, who greeted me and had a little chat. This is a typical Sams pub, old fashioned and well maintained, with no cask beer but a reasonably priced nitrokeg stout (4.5%: £4/pint).
