A multi-roomed roadside local that is a short step from the Bamford Street tram stop. The tiny bar has two hand pumps, but these are unused as "there is no call for it here". Nevertheless I liked it here, drinking keg Stones in a Wards pub, as there was a friendly welcome and it's a traditional pub of the sort that's unfortunately vanishing fast. I know that occasional efforts at serving real ale have been tried here, evidently without success, but located as it is midway between the New Barrack Tavern and the Hillsborough Hotel, it's slightly surprising that a real ale enthusiast hasn't made a more concerted effort to tap the potential of this place.

The Masons Arms used to be a Wards tied house in the 80s and the Wards bitter in here was very nice.
This pub is in the walkley area of Sheffield but sadly there is no real ale on here anymore.
