Will Larter left this review about The Cricketers Arms
A recently refurbished and reopened former Stones house in the shadow of the Sheffield United stadium. Some internal readjustment has gone on, but the fine wooden screen with stained glass has been retained between the enlarged front room and the larger room at the side of the bar.
There are four hand pumps serving Kelham Island beers, of which two were on for my recent visit: Pale Rider and Now That's What I Call Beer 39, the latter a new straw-coloured bitter at 3.9%, which was very reasonably priced at £2.40, though it was too thin and hoppy for my taste.
There were several TV screens all showing Sky News channel with the sound off, though no subtitles, while a radio was blaring out hits from the 60s at excruciating volume. Doubtless this will be right up someone's street, and my guess is that they're aiming for the students in the nearby residences.
