The Bridge Inn has changed since Alan's review of 13 years ago to the extent that the bench seating seems to have been replaced by tables and chairs, and there are now three active hand pumps on the bar. From a choice of Timothy Taylor Landlord and two from Bradfield I went for the Belgian Blue, which was quite a bit better than at the Acorn just up the road (NBSS 3.5, £4.50/pint; cash preferred). This feels a bit like a country pub that time has forgot, and on a December midweek afternoon it was pretty quiet, but I guess it would be a lot busier at weekends. It would be even busier if situated in some really attractive countryside but then it would be a different pub in a different place.

The Bridge is a decent looking pub that is situated at the bottom of a hill if coming from the Acorn Inn.
Once inside there was a single U shaped room with the bar facing,the room was bare boarded to the left and carpeted to the right,there was a mixture of bench seating and normal tables and chairs,a TV was showing music which was chart hits.
There were no real ales on the bar but there was a choice of three keg bitter i opted for a drink of John Smiths Magnet which was drinkable but nothing special,the other keg beers were Stones bitter and John Smiths smooth crap.
This was a decent enough pub that was let down by the lack of real ales on the bar.
