Old Boots left this review about Hanover Arms
A splendid 1930s brick built “improved” pub now sadly in the clutches of Craft Union, although previous philistines may have already done the damage. Some of the old pub is still there, some wooden panelling and mock tudor bits in the entrance lobby, otherwise it’s wrecked. Two spaces as you enter and the counter is in the rear one with the usual depressing collection of national keg brands. There’s a secluded little bar by the entrance through an actual door. Outside is a biggish garden perhaps once a bowling green but no longer. Piped music, machines and screens of course, there’s a pool table in the lefthand space near the entrance and darts in another adjacent bit. A mix of seating; banquette, tall, posing tables and standard tables and chairs, no food as it’s a Craft Union pub. There’s a map of Leeds in a glass screen but otherwise the decor is bland with some Leeds United stuff. Fairly quiet when I dropped in late afternoon mid-week maybe deservedly so.
