Blue Scrumpy left this review about Crown & Anchor

On a day out in East Yorkshire, you cannot go any further east to find a pub than Kilnsea, with the village being the last sign of civilisation before you reach Spurn Point.

The main room is split into a couple of sections with a couple of separate rooms off to the sides. The pub has a stone floor. The section nearest the car park has a couple of fireplaces. One had a specials board above it. Dining is clearly a focus here and most tables were reserved for dinner. The same section also featured a life buoy with pictures of lifeboats above it, books for sale, a large picture of Spurn Point and some porcelain teacups hanging from the ceiling.

Porcelain tankards hang from the ceiling in the other section adjacent to the bar itself. Outdoor tables to the front can be a bit windswept, but along with window tables inside the pub, they offer nice views over the Humber Estuary. There is a more sheltered garden area to the rear with picnic tables.

Regular cask ales are Timothy Taylor Landlord & Tetley's Cask. Guests were Abbeydale Moonshine & Great Newsome Clattering. Timothy Taylor Hopical Storm is available on keg, with the cider being Kopparberg Strawberry & Lime.

This pub features in the Good Beer Guide. My Clattering was a nice beer. I'd say the pub is worth the long trip along the peninsula. A wifi code is provided next to the bar.

The Crown & Anchor has very friendly staff and the service was very quick and the food beautifully presented. The rooms are decorated to a high standard and hav televisionj and tea/cofe making facilities. I will certainly stay again.
