This GK pub ticked lots of boxes, sadly too many wrong ones. Pastel paint scheme; high tables; comfy seats arranged in two areas rendered occupied if one person in each; all other usable furniture set for eating; bottles with LED filigree lights inside; bizarre net curtain material hanging from ceiling; GK beer including Xmas seasonal Rocking Rudolph still on in February; so cold the senior staff member present was wearing a parka; I could go on.
Casting all that aside, it's a multi-level affair with a central, sparsely furnished bar area, pool and darts down to the right, restaurant up to the left. There's a garden at the back and some tables out front too. Apart from RR and IPA there was a badged house bitter which we had a drink of and which tasted exactly like IPA.
There was dissent in the ranks over this one, mainly due to the arctic chill and the requirement to sit in the dining room due to disability unfriendly furniture, a common issue in GK pubs.
I'm sure it's OK for the locals, but we were not enthused.
