Alan Winfield left this review about The Golden Cross

The Golden Cross is a decent sized pub that is close to the train station.
Once inside there is a large square shaped room to the front which has a tiled floor, there is comfy bench seating and small stools for seating, there is a pool table in the middle of the room and a darts board to the front right, there is a separate lounge to the rear.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of keg Banks's Bitter, which was a decent enough drink.
I thought this was a comfortable pub to have a drink in,just a shame there were no real ales on the bar.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Golden Cross

Basic pub close to the station. One main bar dominated by a pool table (with some enthusiastic, if not entirely proficient, participants). Fairly traditional (if tired) furniture and decor. Also has a separate lounge, but the door was locked on a Wednesday evening. Sadly, no real ale, so made do with the bottled Jenning's Bitter (£2.65).
