A classic Jacobean looking former coaching inn in black wood beam and white plaster, with front patio. The interior is a nesting of areas, but opened out - one having a pool table and dartboard. Old photos and prints adorn the walls in typical style to suit the mood, with grey, olive green and wood being the decor. TV was not on and the music was soft. Service was fine but only a few were in. One ale, Hobsons Twisted Spire, which was more than fine. Like all in Cleobury, worth a look.

Imposing Coaching Inn. Classic black and white timbered building.
Seemed to be well used when I called in and my Black Sheep Best Bitter was in good shape.
Worth a visit.

Another surprise..... the main coaching house, dating back from the C16th.

There were only a couple of punters in, in a small open planned room. One playing the bandit, the other playing cards against the bar staff.

One cask on but my fears as to quality (lack of customers, all on keg) was unfounded. The Hobsons Pale had just been changed and a couple of jugs were pulled through before the barman inspected, had a taste (in his own glass) and declared it fit for purpose.

It certainly was.

Three pubs visited on a Wednesday and the cask was spot on in all of them. One of these places (and it could be any) should be in the GBG Guide. Yet, none are in 2026.
