Nick Davies left this review about Wheatsheaf Inn
A large 17th-century building, much extended and knocked around, in the centre of the village, with separate entrances, bar on the left, lounge/eating on the right.
We gave the bar a go first (usual beams, fireplace and whatnot) but it was well populated with people watching the footie, nowhere to sit without being in their way. So off to the lounge, a slightly odd arrangement: you enter into what feels like a hotel reception, just a table and a few chairs. The main area is through a brick howsyourfather and set up for eating. So we sat in the reception bit, which has a counter with no pumps, just bottles at the back. Enquiries revealed that Landlord and Wherry were available, and some very decent glasses of the former appeared from the other bar.
Nothing special, fine for the locals who have to negotiate the disgraceful muddy mess of a car park.
