Another lovely traditional pub, a real treat in Evesham. Entrance porch with a binary choice, to the left is a slightly more modern oblong room with beams, inset gargoyles (!) and padded bench seating showing the football; to the right is a tighter and cosier narrow bar with bay window seating and a small dining area further back, with some tongue and groove wood panelling and dried hops. The pub has enclosed part of the back over the years to create a small courtyard garden which is also where the gents is, past the fish pond. Three pumps, with two cask (Wye Valley HPA and Teme That) along with Black Dragon cider (there may have been Wye Valley in the other bar). My half of That was fair (NBSS 2.5) but I can see why this missed the GBG cut. No matter, there was an enjoyable hubbub inside and I enjoyed my 20 minutes – I’d definitely pop back again next time.

A reminder that you cannot always trust the Good Beer Guide to show you the best places in town. Nothing wrong with their recommendations, but there is an argument to say this is the best in town.
Ancient look half timbered place, split in half. Enter the front door with care or you will find yourself behind the bar, as you navigate the narrow passage. Right hand side is a comfier lounge, with a bar to the right.
The reason for the high recommendation is the beer quality and a land lady that knew her stuff. Four real ales on and a cider and she took time to explain them all.
Teme Valley That, HPA and a green hopped special that I failed to record. The Teme Valley was fresh on and perfect.
Enjoyable visit and worth seeking out for the unique name alone.

The pub is split into two halves by a central passageway. Both rooms are traditional in style with exposed ceiling beams, red painted doors and cream walls. The room on the left had a timber floor with the bar situated over on the right of entrance, which was timber fronted.
The second room on the right of the passageway also had its own bar. This room looked to be the lounge side and attracted lunchtime customers popping in for a bite to eat. Three ales on handpump, Bombardier, Old Speckled Hen and Purity Mad Goose.

The Ye Olde Red Horse is a very nice looking black and white fronted pub that looks quite old from the outside.
Once inside there were a few different rooms and these were very comfortable and had an old worlde feel to them.
There were three real ales on here i had drink of Adnams bitter and this was a nice drinkthe other beers were Bass and M&B Brew X1.
I quite liked this pub and was happy enough haveing a drink in here.
