Attractive pub on the edge of town over the river. Very friendly locals. Well worth the short stroll.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Gardeners Arms
In what is now a quiet part of town north of the river, this is an award-winning ale, cider and food pub that is certainly worth the walk. It comprises the main bar and a separate restaurant at the front, with what was probably originally an off-sales hatch opposite the entrance, and both traditionally furnished and decorated. Also has a substantial terrace beer garden. Five handpumps on the counter, offering Blue Sky Gold 37 (£3.40), Box Piston Broke, Bath Ales Gem and a couple of Thatchers ciders.

A well run pub this one and worth a visit. The pub consists of a lounge and small bar on entry and down a few steps to another front lounge, mainly set out for dining. There were a good few people dining on our visit, the food looked good, but we had already ate at the Hop Pole earlier. There was also a good sized beer garden. The barmaid was friendly and chatty and beer quality excellent. I went for the Upham Brewery Stakes.
