Mild Drinker left this review about The Queens Tap
Located dead opposite the station this pub was handy for a quick drink before leaving Swindon. Seemed like it was a rugby sort of pub. Drinks were fairly cheap compared to others in Swindon. TVs showing sports and a pool table was present. Not bad for a quick stop.

Having made impressive progress down the hill and finding my train running 15 minutes late, I popped back in here for a swift one. Greeted by naff loud modern music and the clacking of pool balls. The lower servery is a lovely bit of carved wood and the place is in a good state of repair but that's where the positives end. Two cask which were both rugby themed and post 6 Nations I wasn’t expecting much; inevitably my Sambrooks Drop Kick didn't clear (NBSS 1.5) and on another day I’d have argued the toss. If the Arkells place on the opposite side of the road actually bothered to open after 8pm on a weekday they’d be more likely to have my business. Mind you, given the six other punters in here, maybe there isn’t much business? 4.5

Basic boozer opposite station. Open-plan horseshoe shaped interior, burgundy ceiling and white/grey décor. Nice light varnish wood panelling on bar front. Pool table to left. Three pumps; Doom Bar and Bombardier (so-so) on, with Brains Rev James turned - so the signs proclaiming ‘a great range of cask ale’ are somewhat boastful. It’s just about OK, preferred the Arkells place next door as a first/last 'drink by the station' venue. Rated 5

The Queen's Tap is convenient for that final drink before catching a train home. It is on a street corner across the street from the station.
After completing track and trace formalities, we were disappointed with the real ale selection, which comprised of only Tribute. So, we ended up with sambucas to round off the day.
There is a central bar, plenty of TVs and a few other rowdy customers (I'm not sure whether or not we were rowdy at this stage). However, with its convenient location, I couldn't help but think that this place really isn't realising its full potential.

Old pub opposite the station. All in one knocked-through room with a central bar - a pool table to one side and a seating area to the other. Live music is featured. At the rear there is a little garden. There seemed to be up to 5 ales on offer, including some good local ones. Pleasant enough.

The Queen's Tap is a pleasant pub with a single, large u-shaped bar, bare floorboards, right opposite the railway station. The reception from the staff was very welcoming, and the locals were friendly. There were snacks on the bar which added to the welcome. While the pub wasn't too busy, there was still a feeling of activity and liveliness about it. Three ales on, I had the 6X which was in perfect condition. Recommended for a quick pint while waiting for a train, and I would be happy to drop in as part of a crawl.

The Queens Tap is the first pub you see when coming off the train station.
The pub has got a grand entrance and once inside the pub had high ceilings and was quite spacious, there were three pumps on the bar but only one in use this had Adnams bitter on this was a decent drink.
