This Green King pub has a real "blue collar" feel about it, a welcome contrast to the other pubs in the vicinity, and as such can be a nice retreat from the Prince of Wales opposite when it gets too crowded. The building is one of the old High Street houses and is currently being renovated (the scaffolding made it difficult to get a decent picture). The Barrington is basic, airy and welcoming. The staff are pleasant and friendly, and the banter is robust. It's a good old fashioned boozer in a small town with no frills. There were 3 ales on; I had a pint of 1966, presumably left overfrom the World Cup - as such it was well past its best. I would cheerfully come back, and I hope this pub stays as it is for years to come.
