E TA left this review about The Bull At Downton
A roadside inn which has a strong local clientele. The building has 14th Century origins but has been mainly modernised. It was previously owned by Downton Brewery but was sold off a few years ago. There is a car park and a grassed garden. There are 3 bar areas inside. The first is a noisy public bar with TV showing sports matches, pool table and a cash machine. In the middle is a quieter lounge area, small, with low sofas and a badly bricked-fireplace, while the last area is mainly laid for diners. Food is cheap and cheerful. Staff were friendly enough, and the clientele were used to strangers, while both dogs and children are welcomed. Two ales on, Hobgoblin Gold and Ringwood Best, both well kept. Worth stopping off while passing but maybe not an evening venue unless staying locally.
