Previously The Bishopdown and a truly awful Brewers Fayre, The Hampton is now a Table Table outlet adjacent to the Bishopdown housing estate and is an integral part of the Travel Inn with which it shares its edge-of-town site and large car park. Gone are the smell of stale chip fat and Charlie Chalk Fun Factory which made it so intolerable before, replaced with plastic furniture and fittings, a real improvement. Now it's just the food which is dire – tasteless, poorly cooked and horribly presented. There were three ales on. I had a pint of 6X, usually a safe bet, and it was in good condition. I'd be happy to come back for a pint but not to eat

Closed due to refurbishment at the moment. Re-opening soon!
Note: It has now re-opened as a Premier Inn, with an on-site Table Table restaurant.

Excellent food and service, again. Open all day but does get busy Sundays and evenings. Big play area for kids, very noisy but ok if you like kids!!
