E TA left this review about The Pelican Inn
A 17th Century roadside pub with a modern extension on one side, which still does B&B. It's currently owned by Marston. There is a small car park, but it's easy to miss if you're travelling quickly. There is also a garden, though road noise detracts from what is otherwise a pleasant place. You enter the pub from the car park through a sunken doorway into the single long bar, which extends into the new annex. The latter is laid as a restaurant but is contiguous with the bar. There is an interesting menu which uses local produce and makes some items for takeaways. They run theme nights, including a weekly Pie Night. The locals, including their dogs, were very welcoming, while the staff were cheerful and friendly. There was WiFi, but it didn't work properly. Three ales on: Ringwood Fortyniner and Best, plus Hobgoblin, all in very good condition. I'd be very happy to drop in when passing or to use the B&B facilities, and I shall make a point of eating next time I'm here.
