An absolute tavern themed chintz-fest, which I warmed to; loads of old prints, low lighting, dried hops, wood everywhere, curtained booths down the side. Large garden which had curtained booths and a water feature! Also there’s an archway made with timbers from an old ship’s hull which were discovered in the roof during renovation. A downside was the excruciatingly slow bar service, partially due to people ordering cream teas (?). Three local beers and no complaints about my Hop Union Maiden Voyage when it finally arrived (NBSS 3.5), so worth its entry in the GBG. Other beers were from Hop Union and Wadworth. Recommend a visit here.
