The 21st June 2017, was considered to be the hottest day since 1976 – I should know I was endeavouring to photograph some of the pubs in Marlborough, which proved to be thirsty work. After glancing inside some of the other offerings, I plumbed for The Wellington Arms, I’m glad I did. There were at least 5 hand pumps, but only three were in operation, as I am not a great real ale enthusiast, this did not trouble me too much. I opted for a diet coke, the friendly barman observed how uncomfortable I looked (from the heat outside) so he offered me a glass of water, for which I was extremely grateful. This kind of service deserves recognition.
I hope to call in again if I am in the area.

Probably the most honest boozer in the town centre. Friendly service at the bar and three ales on; Bass (good), Ramsbury Gold and Wadworth 6X. Fairly lights above the bar, large TV (switched off) mounted on beams. Some trophies attest to sporting prowess amongst the regulars. Wood floor and a relatively basic feel in the front bar with a further room downstairs, leading to a rear patio. This’d be the one I prioritise next time I’m in Marlborough.

The Wellington is a smallish pub that looks ok from the outside there are a couple of tables at the front, once inside this was a proper pub that had'nt been altered that much there were three handpumps on the bar i had a drink called Ramsbury Gold and this was very nice the other beers were Wadworth 6X and Bass.
The pub was very busy and quite a few people were having meals.
Not a bad place to have a few drinks in.

We went in for lunch, the initial impression was a bit off putting, wooden floor, bit dingy with a few locals sat around having a lunchtime pint
However we went on through and ordered the grub, plus drinks.
They have special reduced offers of the day, but we ordered Fish & chips, for 6.95.
It was lovely and would certainly go back again for food alone
The beer I can't really comment on as I am not a beer drinker and feel it would be wrong to add anything here. I liked what I drank is all I can say
Do not be put off by initial appearancem the toilets are upstairs BTW, so if stairs are a problem avoid.
