A lovely GII listed Waddies pub overlooking the picturesque village green. A rustic interior, fairly small with paved floor, third length wood panelling, large inglenook fireplace (now using a wood burning stove) and a low wonky ceiling adorned with hops. A good selection of books which I assumed operated as a swap shop. Local bar chat regarding the recently abandoned Swindon Town v Bristol Rovers match, as a travelling Gashead I decided to keep my views to myself. Sadly, the dart board was set in an unusable position. Four pumps all dispensing; Waddies 6X, IPA, Carnival ale and a genuine guest from Colchester Brewery which was in good shape. I fell in love with this quirky little village and both of its pubs were enjoyable. In terms of traditional drinking, this is the superior of the two and I’d highly recommend a special journey out to sample it.
