Feels more like a wine bar, this two sectioned ground floor bar is a pleasant spot and there was a friendly welcome from behind the bar ,which is in the rear section. It felt a little twee, and the rear wall is covered by shelving full of cooking oils, wine bottles, mustards ,relishes and other, mainly French, bottled condiments.
However there is a commitment to both real ale and quality craft keg beer.On the three handpumps there was Butcombe Bitter,Kettlesmith Outline and something so unexciting I failed to note it,but the 4 keg taps proved more punchy and I had a decent,if overly cold,Oakham Green Devil IPA.
There is a first floor restaurant ,but we were in late and just drinking so cant comment of food quality.
If the real ale offered matched the care taken in the keg selection, this would be a winner but as it stands this was a good place for a lastie before heading to the takeaway just down the road.

The Bunch of Grapes has recently been refurbished and follows a French theme. The cocktails are excellent. We have filmed the inside to let you judge for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qu11BRCruTQ
