Perhaps a little rougher than most of the Craft Union pubs I've been in, but this is Pudsey after all. There are two hand pumps on the bar, but no real ale. The Worthington Creamflow was unlike any I've had before - either they've added caramel to the mash tun, or the wrong barrel has been connected. Anyway, at £1 for a half I wasn't going to complain, and it tasted ok. This seemed like a very friendly pub, with people obviously known to each other and to the lass serving behind the bar. Someone had brought a toddler in to be greeted and admired - not a sight you see every day in pubs, so perhaps it's not as rough as my first impression.

The Masons arms is a proper looking stone built pub.
Once inside the pub has been opened out but still retains three separate drinking areas, there is a square shaped room to the front left which has comfy bench seating, there is another square shaped room which is opposite the bar, this room is quite comfy with bench seating and being carpeted, there is a pool table in an area to the front right.
The serving bar is in the middle of the pub, there was one real ale on the bar which was Tetley bitter this was a decent drink.
There was decent background music playing, the TV was showing BBC news.
This is a decent pub that i would happily stay in for a few drinks.
