Will Larter left this review about Foresters Inn
A village pub that is doing its best to turn its back on the village: the "main entrance" is signposted at each side of the building and leads directly from the car park. Inside there's a bar in the shape of a large letter S, with two banks of three hand pumps facing two ways into the different rooms. The person serving us had difficulty understanding our order, and started to serve some John Smiths Ultra Cold Smooth instead of the Timothy Taylor Landlord and Black Sheep Ale that we'd asked for, but was soon put right (only two ales available - how hard can it be?). The beer was OK, but I felt that we'd perhaps come to the wrong place, as we weren't stopping for food. If I lived here I would have no problem calling again, especially as the nearest alternative pubs are about a mile away, but if I were planning another Denby Dale crawl this would probably be the first to be scratched off the running order.
